In my role as Executive Producer for Octonauts Above & Beyond at Sony Pictures Television Kids, I functioned as the showrunner for the series refresh, helping develop brand new aspects of the series and overseeing all areas of production. I led creative meetings, helped establish a multi-studio production model, and supported the team with scheduling and creative technical solutions.
Above & Beyond was a significant step up for me, and I felt a lot of responsibility taking on the role of EP. I had already grown a lot with the series, and with so many new talented people coming on board, there were fantastic opportunities to further develop the show while maintaining its core values. Reviewing all the scripts, designs, animatics, animation, audio, and deliverables for each episodes was a daunting task, and our team definitely rose to the challenge.
For our work on the show, the team was also fortunate to be nominated for Emmy Awards for "Outstanding Preschool Animated Series" as well as "Outstanding Sound Mixing and Sound Editing for a Preschool Animated Program". All of our writers, actors, directors, studios, artists, and producers gave everything they had to make this a wonderful show and a rewarding experience.
