For Octonauts season five, I was given an expanded role as Line Producer for the show. I had additional responsibilities for cost reporting, partnering with a new pre-production studio, and supervising a production manager and production coordinator. Season five significantly altered the production model of the show, which required all of us to be adaptable and flexible.
Being intimately involved in pre-production planning gave me additional exposure to asset and scope assessment, script breakdowns, shot direction, and translating boards to 3D layout. Having a technical background, I was often troubleshooting workflow and asset issues with our partner studios, as well as with consumer product and social media partners. These efforts also cemented my familiarity with the previous four seasons of the show, a resource that was not only useful during this new era of production, but would also prove useful in future versions of the series.
